Oceanside City Council Presentation

Hello again! This week was an exciting one! I was presented to the Oceanside City Council, along with the other Oceanside royalty. I even got to say a few words!

The Oceanside Royalty, including myself, along with the Oceanside Sea Lions Club.

Anyway, that's all for now. I have a lot of exciting opportunities coming up soon, I can't wait until all the details are finalized to share them with you!

And don't forget to "like" me on Facebook!

Until next time,

Miss Senior California

Hi Everyone! Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Miss Senior California pageant. If you're not familiar with this pageant, it's for women ages 60 and over. It was amazing to see these women out there on stage strutting their stuff, you wouldn't know they were seniors!

I was there to support Miss Senior San Diego, Elaine Brammell.

All of the lovely ladies

Me with one of the contestants. Her talent was an Argentine Tango!

Me with the newly crowned Miss Senior California, Pamela Wheeler.

Me with Miss California Teen Achieve Mercedes Harvey, Miss Teen Oceanside Demi Mundo and the Oceanside princesses.

Miss Senior California 2009 Peggy Padilla. She's 79 years old and has performed all over the state.

Here's a video of Peggy tapdancing for your viewing pleasure:

Until next time!

My First Blog!

Hi Everyone! Well, first of all, thanks for stopping by. This is my blog where I''ll be able to share with you my experiences and adventures as Miss Oceanside 2010. Its been a busy summer so far so let me fill you in on what I've been up to.

My first duty as Miss Oceanside was face-painting at the Carlsbad Street Fair, the day after the pageant:

I'm not the greatest artist, but after a couple hours I think I was getting pretty good...

Then we had our Beach Fun Day, sponsored by the Oceanside Kiwanis Club to benefit special-needs children in our local schools:

Police dog demonstration by the Carlsbad Police Department. You might want to stay on their good side!

Then we had Operation Appreciation, an outdoor celebration with complimentary food and fun as a thank you to our military families:

Me with Splash the Starfish, Oceanside Public Library Mascot

My favorite event so far was the Oceanside Independence Day Parade:

It was so much fun to be a part of one of Oceansides longest standing traditions. Thanks to all the volunteers for making the parade possible!
That'll be it for now. But be sure to check back often to see what I'm up to for my entire year as Miss Oceanside. Its gonna be a good one!
XOXO,
Lauryn
